2014年2月19日陈小佳女士在奥斯汀西北办公楼被害一案，令当地华人和亚裔社区极为
震惊, 悲伤, 也心存顾虑和戒备。安全是在海外生活最为关心的事情。奥斯汀警察局社
区联络办公室和华人社区组织特就以下议题举办安全教育讲座，
- 如何保持安全的工作环境, 生活环境, 和家庭安全
- 如何处理紧急情况，如何处理匿名诽谤信
另外我们还邀请到有经验的律师讲述
- 如何预防和处理与消费者有关的欺诈和诈骗行为
讲座时间和地点为；

Crime Prevention Seminar on Safety Issues
April 1st, 2014, Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

The homicide case of Ms. Grace Chen, occurred in her working office building
in northwest Austin on February 19, 2014, has shocked and saddened the
local Chinese and Asian community. It has put the community on high alert.
The Office of Community Liaison of the Austin Police Department and Chinese
organizations will host an educational seminar on safety issues to address
the following concerns:
- How to keep work and living environment and family safe?
- How to respond to emergency situations and how to handle
anonymous
“poison pen” letters?
In addition we have invited experienced lawyers to address the third topic:
- How to prevent and deal with “Consumer and Related Fraud and
Scams”?
The seminar is scheduled for the following time and location:
April 1st, 2014, Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Snacks will be provided. This event is free and open to public.
We urge local community members to actively participate in this event and
talk to the police department and lawyers in public or private about your
concerns and suggestions.
