不过我看meritage豪宅的外观还是很养眼的。

一直不错。但是今年的好像有点下降，不过大多数的builder的质量今年都在下降。 |

发帖数: 237 | 7 谢谢大家。。。我们也是比较喜欢Villag builder的floor plans,看中的一house有
lake view的，感觉很好。觉得woodlands就是离市区，离chinatown，离energy
corridor有点远，担心如果以后换工作的话commute的问题。spring的学校好像一般，
没有tomball好，woodland的学区我还没好好研究过。是不是一般看学校的好坏就是到
greatschools.org上去看评分？一般9 out 10就应该很好的学校了吧？ |

学区好像比较一般。。。

好，而且小区里规划的挺漂亮的。等grand parkway建成后，去woodland最多30分钟就
可以了。我只是觉得249边上的环境看上去太乱。

It is the worst business (not just builder) I have ever dealt with. Just an
example, there were supposed to be 2 meetings during construction process
but I was never contacted.
Don't be fooled by its so called Energy efficiency rating. The attic is
sealed by the sprayfoam insulation and has to be air conditioned, thus you
even feel so cool inside even inside the attic during summer. Waste of
energy. They have to use electric heat pump instead of gas heater for
heating during winter because the gas heater may leak and cause safety issue
. Also you have to use electric water heater for the same reason. We all
know natural gas is much cheaper than electricity. At the end it may cost
you more for the total energy bill (gas and electricity). They will never
tell you all those facts plus other cons (such as it is hard to know if roof
leaks) which when you sign the contract. The construction manager doesn't
even like the spray foam insulation.
Meritage bought Legacy Homes which is a very low-end builder and expanded
into Houston market. Also don't be fooled by its BBB rating. Read how many
complaints are not resolved. BBB found business made good faith effort to
resolve complaint but customer not satisfied with business response, which
actually means business didn't do anything trying to resolve the issue.
VB is a much better home builder. Recently bought a home built by VB 7 years
ago and my home inspector found some issues (roof little bit sagging,
missing some support, etc.) in the attic, the seller contacted VB and VB
fixed them w/o asking anything. |
