They also hire non-Chinese (and have) but Chinese speaking is a plus.
Houston research center is in planning stage therefore only discuss Beijing
positions for now
If no experience, you will be treated same way as China graduates. US degree
no preference. Therefore, experience is perferred.
You need to be able to deliver. If you cannot deliver after 1-2 years, you
may not be able to keep the position.
Compensation is international level if you can prove yourself. Don't ask me
any numbers as there is no fixed standard.
A project coordinator will be appointed to help you handle all paper work,
meetings, and "guanxi", as well as getting funding for your research, so
that you can focus on what you like to do. You can bring a few team members
from USA, or they will appoint several team members to work with you if you
wish.
If you have kids going to Beijing also, they will consider helping getting
your kids to international school if so desired.
They will also consider helping spouse getting job if qualified.
As to technology, they are not trying to copy USA technology, but develop
their own. In my discussion I noticed a few technology not yet available in
USA.
Expertise needed may include:
Drilling
Completion and stimulation
Well testing
Formation damage prevention
Offshore drilling and production equipment
Automation and remote control
Degree in engineering or computer
