I hope you guys can join a group hiking activity on this coming Saturday, 1/
8/2011. We are going to hike this Saturday at Brazos Bend State Park (
Address: 21901 F.M. 762, Needville, TX 77461) which is about 35 miles and 1
hour's driving southwest from Chinatown http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/findadest/parks/brazos_bend/. Brazos Bend State Park is famous on it's alligators, wet land, observatory and 30-miles-long trails. There will be $5/person for the state park use fee charged by the park headquarters staff. Weather forcast states that it will be sunny this coming Thursday and Friday there, most cloudy on Saturday day and heavy rain in the evening http://www.accuweather.com/us/tx/needville/77461/forecast-details.asp?fday=5. From my experience, this kind of weather is fantastic for the day hiking in this wet land park. The selected total hiking routines are about 7.5 miles. Among them 1/3 is for foot hiking only, the rest trails are good for both hiking and biking.
We will meet and depart at 10:00am in front of 敦煌广场 at China Town,
arrive at the park headquarters at around 11:15am. After a tour of the
observation Tower near 40-Acre Lake, we will drive to and park near the
Goerge Observatory which is open to public viewing every Saturdays, 3-10pm.
Then we will begin the hiking and come back to the parking lots at around 4:
00pm. The last event is the tour of Goerge Observatory in case somebody are
interested in it. The details of the hiking routines are marked by red
arrows in the second attachment of this email. We are expect to have dinner
together in a restaurant at China Town after the hiking.
If you are interested in it, please let me know your name, your mobile
number and wether if you can provide car pool to others. More details will
follow up for your response. If you have any comments, please also let me
know.
