Having tried this string for the last couple months, I really like the power
and softness from Poly star Energy, especially 17g gauge. Decided to buy a
reel of this string. Here is the deal on Amazon. The listed price on
TennisExpress or Midwest is $87/reel. This one (I already received one reel,
it's European packaging) only cost around $53 shipped. It's about $3 a set.
Note that this string is very powerful. So I only recommend if you use a low
powered racquet. Also you do not want to lower 10% tension as other poly.
Due to this string is as soft as multifilament, you want to string it nearly
the same tension as you string multifilament (may be only 2 or 3 lbs lower,
but not 10% lower).
The 16L or 16G gauge version lost less tension than 17g version, but feels a
little less soft and less powerful than 17g. They're still more powerful
and softer than 99% of other polys. If you're a hard hitter, buy the 16L or
16G version. If you have elbow problem like me, buy the 17g version.

the most important being so smooth that it can snap back in place easily
after making contact with the ball? | b*e 发帖数: 3845 | 3 it is very smooth surface.
when string is fresh, i think that it can snap back. The best thing about
this string is I don't feel it goes to dead. Though it loses a lot of
tension and may move around, it is still very powerful and controllable.
Of course, string is ver6 personal choice, depending on your racquet,
tension and play style, you may try a set before making commitment for a
reel.
poly,

Thanks. Sounds like some pre-stretch would bring the best out of this
string.

This string is very special. When I string it using my drop weight machine,
I need to string it very slowly. Say if the angle of drop weight is 30
degree, it may very slowly be stretched to 5 degree within 5 seconds.

but I tried many other polys.
Most other polys except some of Luxilon feel really low powered when it goes
dead, which I hate a lot.
This poly star energy (especially 17g) will never become low powered after
long hours hitting. It only moves around more than other poly. It's not a
problem for me as long as I string it with right tension.

I think for this string the rating & string adjective on String Forum is
pretty accurate.
