qualifier matches simply because their ranking is too low to enter the

I still doubt that, there are many players ranked below Goffin but above
Querry in the tournament without playing the qualify. There are 48 players,
remove the WC, Q, SE, PR (11), there are still 37 players, so as long as you
are top 37 you should get direct entry....
But your point on Borna's ranking being too low stands. Whether if he
qualify to play the qualifier or not, I'm not sure. I think he should
qualify because he's top 100 now (128 before the Basal). Not sure when is
the cut off time.

，需要打Q，但是极有可能因为上一个tournament挣到不少积分，或者最近进步比较大
，值得以SE身份进入正赛。

can't make it because he was still playing Basel, in this case he was
offered SE, without this SE, he can't be in main draw. In Shanghai master,
both Klizan and Becker were qualified to receive an SE, and SE was given to
Klizan because Klizan ranked higher than Becker, so Becker can't play
Shanghai and had to
go back Europe.
