have no doubt he would be a good coach. Note that Shen probably coached
tennis as his part time job. I do not know his rate. But my guess $45-$75/
hour should be reasonable for a group class.

that I can play with Henry/Gordon as soon as possible, and then with Alex
cause I own him a decent match. Let me see how it goes.
I normally charge $40~60 for group lessons depending on number of people
attending, but the first class are always free of charge and they can pay me
in full @ 2nd session if they want to learn consistently. |

You sounded like you still believes you should belong to echelon of 4.5s or
5.0s, having confidence is fine, it's good. However the "then with Alex
cause I own him a decent match", you made it sound like as Alex is not
worthy to play, the only reason you'll play him is because you "owe him a
decent match". That was a bit un-call for.
Maybe that's not your intention, maybe i read too much into what you wrote.
If so I apologize.

this annoyed me badly too, and as I said before, Comerade Shen actually feel
win/loss on face more important than sportsmanship, otherwise, won't say
such insulting Alex words again and before "only used 20-30% ability and
power...."
Black-teacher, I highly respect your honesty, no matter how your ranking is
lower than and your games skill/tech worse than comerade Shen........
U r the MAN in my eyes with true sportsmanship on this board, same as Henry

I want to play to Henry/Gordon because I own all guys here a good match to
watch.
I want to play with Alex again because I feel regretted that I didn't play
with him seriously but that's the only case in my life.
2. To USMedEdu,
I do hold a USTA 4.5 Rating from about 2 years ago and I did have a USPTA
recreational coach license. (I failed the written tests with 49/100). I
was referred by a teaching pro to work at a club in Oak, Chicago earlier
this year and didn't do it for now because of my full-time workload.
I started playing tennis just recently after 6 month work and see if I can
update rating from 4.5 to 5.0 and play 5.0 USTA tournament if possible and
that's why I said I MIGHT BE WEAK 5.0.
I didn't mean to insult anyone with the 20~30% skills thing, it's just a
approx. meansure of the skills I used during that play. I like to show and
explain things detailly and I really appologize if that means anything
insulting, seriously.
3. I'm just a guy with meticulous attitude, love tennis and I won't claim
anything that don't belong to me. |

under pro coach's direction, not like Alex and me and most of players here,
start to learn playing tennis after 30,40s, without any coaching and even no
$$ to play indoor at winter season!
I am sure you r a good coach as u always watched so many college players'
games and played with them and you claimed your coaching fee $45-60 which is
same as my club's national champ's coaching price.......
any way, ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS, OF COURSE INCLUDING "APOLOGIZE",
TOO.......
I just speak what I thought based on what I watched here, and I never hide

发帖数: 6757 | 16 apology accepted. I'm sure these kind of things only happens on the board --
what you wrote may not be what you meant.
Anyways, I'm not sure about Chicago, but in Texas there are rarely any
tournaments that has 5.0. Normally 5.0s just plays open. Often people who
plays in 5.0 tournaments are the 4.5s with a big head. If you can win some 4
.5 major zone, or get to semis of open at some big tournaments, you should
get bump to 5.0 quickly. Good luck!
Lastly, I agree with ATM, rating is just a number, as long as we are having
fun it doesn't matter. =)

一般的人，尤其是初学者。学球还是找比较正规点的教练好。

particular wrong w/ his strokes, and besides just because he holds the grip
this way doesn't meant he has to teach his students this way.... this sounds

1. Yes It’s hard to find 5.0 players to play with, I played with
several 5.0 usta before but feel they are more like 4.5s. I decided to
train myself to the best shape and play Futures or other Opens within 5
years before turning 30s.
Back in Ames, Iowa, one Chinese professor (friend of mine), Mr.Wang helped
me hooked up with High school seeds No.1 Alex, 3 Victor and No.5 Victor. I
knew Alex was State Top 5 but not sure about the rest. I would really
appreciate if chinese friends in Chicago can help me hooked up with some
players like them.
2. I used Extreme Western Grip, which is extremely hard to learn and use,
the sacrifice of heavy spin Is the energy input. I need to hit about 50%
harder because 50% or more of the energy I input turns into spin instead of
speed. However, I teach semi-western grip for forehands for all of my
students and I can play semi-western forehand and double backhands with left
arms, extreme western forehand and semi-western back hands w/right arm,
which means I usually teach students with left arms.

我这才３.５+本不该品头论足说高手们什么，但这论坛风气如此，没办法，就从了，随
了大流。
不管你自称用了多少成功力，我这人看发球看得比其他技术都重，我认为，单就论发球
技术动作得流畅，发力方式，落点，ＣＣ和ＨＥＮＲＹ比您得强不少，至少２０－３０
％以上？呵呵。
他俩我都打过多年了，是老熟人，他俩得技术动作就不说了，是版上公认得前几名高手
，说话为人，我是从来这板起，就一直认为很ＤＥＣＥＮＴ的，是值得信赖和交得球友
和生活里得朋友。我也同样欣赏最近才来的黑导。听话听声。锣鼓听音。大家都成人了
，说话言语基本是内心思维得表象反映。
有人爱攻击我，好拍高手马屁，您这高手得言语，俺就更加留意和要慎重并高标准严要
求对待地，否则不就辜负了那些啃俺脚跟１０多年的版虫们对俺得期望了吗？！

标准都是用来估计一个人的level的，但到底是什么level，是比赛打出来的。
这里所有的人说的4.0， 4.5， 5.0 level，都是有usta成绩和评级的，不是自己估的
。这个就是你和这个版的gap在哪里。
你准备怎么close 这个gap 呢？

(my tennis buddy has the same goal... advantage of being a single no kids)
For now, you just need to make a name for yourself. Just win. Kill Alex,
beat up Henry and Gordon, win couple USTA 4.5 or open tournaments. Once you
have your name out, I'm sure many parents will ask you to hit with their
kids.

，但没敢出全力肯定是真的。
你提他的发球， 我又去看来下，leonard挥拍很流畅，wrist snap很好，所以在不靠身
体发力的情况下还能发出很转的上旋。
我觉得现在口水帖可以停停了，等以后alex把leonard和henry或其他高手过招的录像奔
出来，到时再继续。现在感觉话越说越僵，把lenonard气跑了也是网版的损失，
chicago地区的id也少了个可以打球的高手，另外更重要的是： ....................

实事求是的说，竞技体育最重要的品质就是不服气，呵呵 这个问题很好解决，打一场
就好了，输赢是最直接的解释。。。现在这样挺好，一场不行，咱们多打几场。。。不
打不相识，真金不怕火炼。。。
从录像上看，也许LEO没出全力，但是这不影响你和阿扁的H2H记录，哈哈。 目前0：1

拿到一分ATP积分，目前很久不跟了。他和你类似，全职，女朋友愿意支持他周末全天
比赛。

我的网球肘其实一直没好，我又是急性子，上次我网球肘突发而失约，休息了两三个星
期还没有痊愈，我实在受不了遥遥无期的等待，所以平生第一次带着护具上场，借主场
之利，侥幸获胜，我认为我们水平在伯仲之间，不分高低，胜负完全看现场发挥。
申老师和我联系，要我帮他在本周末约HENRY和GORDEN交流，而HENRY最近事比较多，平
时要带孩子，周末要打两天比赛，已经回复说短期内难以实现。
而我带着半残老朽的身躯迎战，申老师如果再次承让，盛情之下，难以承受。而杜邦兄
作为一等一的好手，比肩HENRY,名声早已蜚声网版，扬威海内，如果本周末帮本盟解燃
眉之急，不失礼于申老师，代为交流，则万分感激。

其实主要是由于我很喜欢把事情说的仔细，所以才有２０～３０％出力的说法，真不是
什么别的原因。输了就是输了我也真没想那么多.
我知道哪怕一分的ATP 积分也要大好几轮的FUTURE 正塞或者CHALLENGER 的正塞才行，
现在主要是做CONDITIONING，全套下来一般要３～４小时.
昨天从６点练到９点半然后和MILEN打了场单打总算是１／６，７／６首次赢了一个SET
，一直打到１１：３０PM, 晚上做饭吃饭后已经半夜２点了, 我本来身高就是劣势他
个个２发都过顶。他就是过去打FUTURE 打不出好成绩，我如果不能稳定赢他去FUTURE
就是送钱找虐。

因为我学球的时候教练教我的是正手西方式，反手教的是半西单反。后来打了10年左右
习惯了就不准备改了。
学习教练学以后，自己教自己左手打半西和双反，非常轻松，而且半西打低，中，高球
都还可以，而且打力量和上旋都很平衡，我肯定教好学的嘛......

过 top spin，而且俺的逻辑，一直是支持 top spin 的。
黑导和俺的最大争议是初学者是从 top spin 开始学呢，还是从平击开始学。
俺的观点，是学平击（废话，俺也不会 top spin 啊），用东方式正手（注：俺是 3.0
的教练，教 2.5以下的，实际上，现在俺的4，5个学生，都是刚刚拿球拍的）。

win the match.
It is better to master both of them if you can. If you go back 50 years,
every one was using continental grip for the forehand which may not generate
a lot of top spin. |
