19 out of 565 4.0 male players got bumped up to 4.5. That is only top 3.3%!
It was 16.8% bumped up from 4.0 to 4.5 in 2009.
44 out of 601 3.5 male players got bumped up to 4.0. That is 7.3% bump. It
was 30% bumped up from 3.5 to 4.0 in 2009.
To those who weren't bumped up: Don't worry, you may have a wonderful season
but usta just too strict this year.
To those who were bumped up: Congratulations! You deserve it since you are
really top of your level. |

It took me 4 mins to get the bump up numbers. It would be hours to find bump
down #. If you want to do it. I can tell how to do.

需要在3。5的比赛中显示一点实力才升到3。5，3。5 升4。0比较少，但是认识的好几
个强4。0都升到了4。5，当然他们不是在4。5战绩不错，就是晋级了州冠军或者
sectional.
同时要恭喜版花升到4。0 ：））） |

(3/4). it means the PNW local level was relatively weak than those top
sections in 2010. therefore, a few of players got bumped up to 4.5.
this is similar for NorCal men's league 2010, NorCal 4.0 was a weakest in
their group in this year natioanal. i think even fewer men got bumped up to
4.5 in NorCal. generally speaking NorCal did very badly in national this
year, all were the weakest or second weakest in their group from 2.5, 3.0,
to 5.0, except for 3.5, which was 2nd in their group. considering the all
national final has 4 groups for each level, it is a surprise to see NorCal
men's tennis is that weak.
is there anyone from NorCal on this board?

It can drill down to all players rating of a Distrct. E.g you can pull all
the 2010 4.0 men league players' rating. Then using excel you can find out
who got bumped up to 4.5. However, it isn't easy to get the bumped down #
since some players play up and still stay at that level. In this case, you
need query each lower level players' rating one by one to find out.

I tried a few 3.5's and found out they are just NTRP 3.5 and played in
4.0 league.
Besides, there seems to be no easy way to know the exact NTRP level
from a previous year. I can only decide based on what leagues a player
attended in 2009 and choose the lowest level as his NTRP level.

signed up. In the team roster list, the left side of his name is his rating
of 2009.

anyway for mixed double results 2010, NoCal's female did great in all levels:
2.5 runnerup
3.0 runnerup
3.5 Defeated the champion in the group
4.0 second in their group
4.5 semifinalist
5.0 semifinalist

if each section champion has to fight through local, district and section
playoff with similar difficulty in comparison to other section champions,
then the better the section champion does in national, the stronger the
competition is in local level. it is just like to say chinese pingpong team
is the best in the world, then average chinese pingpong professionals are
better than the ones from other country. there is some exception, of course.
however, if you say no logical at all, you must be a girl, i guess.
the method usta using to decide players year-end rating is based on how each
section's champion performs in the national. some players will become
benchmark for the X+0.5 (X is the level they play). the players play better
than benchmark and the benchmark players become X-0.5 after national. the
benchmark players will be utilized as guage to rate all the players they
played in their local, the closer score the opponents got, the closer the
rating would be. then benchmarks' opponents are used to rate other players
they played, so on and so forth.
