court. If Li approached net too much, she would have lost that match. Li's
confident in her ground strokes. Why would you use your weakness to play
against opponent's strength?

she implies that there are 3 chances Li Na can approach the net in that
point) When Li Na had a good shot that pulled Venus out of position and had
to hit a loopy ball back in, Li Na should've closed the point at the net.
This is common sense, even 4.0+ club players can do it.

well, but did not take advantage to flaten it out or
went to net for a winner :) Mentally you are not comfort
to do that yet since you are afraid to make a mistake.
Li had relative weaker volley and overhead. She dares
not to risk her chance. Zheng is much better at net, but
she is too short to cover overhead well. Peng is similar
with Li, they are all heavy hitting baseliners. It is
seems to be common sense, but they are not comfort to do

was facing Venus who's the fastest player in th etour. Venus's movement and
passing shot is pretty much the best in woman's side.
I dont think it's necessary for Li to approach the net in this case,
especially she is in control of the baseline.
