OBD inspection fail了，trouble codes:
P0420 catalyst system efficiency below threshold(bank 1)
P0440 evaporative emission control system malfunction
P0446 evaporative emission control system vent/control circuit malfunction

First, list Year, Make, Model for your car whenever you ask questions for
cars.
Second, erasing code will not work in most case. Whenever you erase the
error code from the engine computer (called PCM), you clean all the
information the PCM stored during many driving cycles. So if you immediately
send your car for smog test, the machine will report "not enough driving
cycles, can not communicate" something like that. If you keep driving it to

发帖数: 1799 | 3 if memory serves me right. the catalytic converter error code could mean
quite a few things. basically the two O2 sensors are giving very similar
readings which triggers an catalytic converter error. It could be one of the
O2 sensors went bad, leaking exhaust manifold, leaking exhaust pipe, bad
catalytic converter .....
Check for leaks first, then if you do not get bad egg smell, it might be the
O2 sensors, or if you do get bad smell, then could be the catalytic
converter.
