发帖数: 3620 | 1 “OK, here is what I got” 小泡泡那天一吭声，俺知道泡泡吹破了。
小泡泡填了7所学校，被HYPS 全拒。被一所二流私立，UCB及州立的Honor Program 录
取。平常豁达宽心的小泡泡（希望有机会去S 大学）前天有点沮丧，现有好转，开始好
好考虑下步的路。这不又为同学电脑免费出诊去了。
此事上少有焦虑和动容的太太，这两天也有点不自在。愿她会很快淡忘此事。
小泡泡绝不是天才和顶聪明的孩子，但俺也相信他不是一个笨蛋和弱者。下面将俺能想
到的他的申请失败之处列出，是自责不是开脱自己，愿对其他家长们有用。俺尽量客观
，但难免个人的心态和偏见。大家要砸要骂要提建议要分析原因，俺都接受和感谢。
客观失误：
1． 数学和Academic 不是很强
2． 与 Counselor 的关系不是最佳
3． 科技老师的推荐信可能不是最好
4． 九，十年级的暑期大都旅游和在家玩过去了，未学其他AP课（我们无知）
5． 作文可能不切题，就一，两篇翻改
6． H 早期决定被延期后没足够重视（目标S），圣诞和元旦期间外出返家后（1/5）才
匆匆在1/10 日截止前完成其它学校的申请
7． 申请期爱于情面或喜欢助人为乐，花太多时间参加同学或同学的同学聚会（实为被
请去专职照像和照片的处理）和帮助他人（电脑，晚上回答他人功课的问题）
8． 太多的乐队和其他俱乐部赛事准备，忙得功课不佳，排名从 9 （九，十年级玩电
脑游戏有1，2个B）跌到 12 （690 人）
9． 太诚实（近于愚腐），个人简历的撰写，面试的准备。没有一点夸大字词。（俺想
到，提及他作一点加工，他说不。俺这点到是心里不内疚）
10． 申请中偏爱的学科没填他最强的电脑专业（仅自己随填的环境工程，电子工程和
建筑），我们没重识和敦促他。当然也不强求他。
11． 有可能我们将他看得太高。
他的简历：
1． PSAT （238）, SAT（2380，Math 780, Reading 800, Writing 800）, 3 subject
SATII （Math II 800, Physics 780, World History 800）
2． GPA 4.6889, ranking 12 of 690
3． National Merit Finalist
4． 5 APs （all 5） pending 6
5． 4 years in the band
6． Many state level computer competitionons #1 （since 9th grade）
7. 1st place at the 2006 State Science Bowl （captain） and top 32 of
National Science Bowl in D.C.
8． Vice-President of Computer Club
9． President of Junior Engineering Technical Society
10． State #1 of Future Business Leaders of America in computer network
11．National #3 in the Cyber Security of 2006 FBLA
12．1st place Social Science, 2nd place Music, 2nd place Speech in Regional
Competition in 12th grade of Academic Decathlon
13． Model United Nations Since 9th grade. Best Delegate Award.
14． Many real community service hours （>200）.
15． Running a Computer Service Business （network, wireless, hardware and
software）, helped more than 50 customers and friends.
