标 题: 共和党和民主党：无原则的忠诚和无原则的背叛

看了近几年美国政界中的种种现象，有一天我突然向自己：
如果你在生活中碰到典型的共和党员和民主党员，你会选谁做朋友？
说起来，这对我自己来说，是一个很现实的问题，因为我的朋友里确实有支持共和
党的，也有支持民主党的。
我以前的一个manager, 和我私交不错，我在他手下时干活也比较卖力。后来他跳
到另一个公司当经理，一度希望我跟他一起去，但我权衡利弊，最终没有去。
但他是支持共和党的，00年他选了布什，04年他再次选布什。因为这个问题，我和
他争论过很多次，常常争到彼此都面红耳赤。不过政见不合没有影响我们的私交。
现在，彼此在不同公司，各为其主，但我们一直保持着联系。
另外一个美国同事，是民主党支持者，一度跟我关系很好；后来不知道为什么突然对
我冷淡下来，有点极力要把我排斥出他所在的那个圈子的意思。我实在想不出跟他有
什么利益冲突 |

People are free to change their mind.
And personal relationship is different from political relationship.
I don't consider them as anything bad in ethics. They just have a different
political opinion.

However politicians have to attract voters, so whether change or not, they
have to consider that. That's why voting record is important.
Hillary was a republican, so what?

because they shared common political benefits. I don't think they owe
Clinton anything in person.
Now in the primary, they have different political interests from Clinton, it
is natural for them to depart from Clinton. Their judgement is based on their
political principles or their voters interests, not by personal feelings.
Those things should not be taken as personal.

共和党支持者更看重loyalty这个value, 就象他们反对堕胎一样，那么政客们就得
在这方面表现得好看一点，所以布什宁愿显得刚愎自用，也要维护这个对朋友对
同党loyal的形象
民主党不讲loyalty, 就象他们不反对堕胎一样，所以loyalty这个value，就象你
所说的一样，不是他们的political interest

主党人以耍嘴皮子的居多, 一起high可以, 真到干实事的时候都没影子了, 一群乌合之众. |

民主党里的老黑都是白眼狼, 得了便宜还卖乖, 跟越南北韩似的.白人以志大才疏者居
多,口号喊得震天响, 这么多年了也没见他们walk the walk.好不容易出了克林顿俩口
子,还非得置他们于死地而后快.一帮losers.

对留住conservative选民的选票，还是起了很大作用的
当然这个loyalty的秀做得太过分，当然也会起反作用的；你说的Miers就是其中一例

When Bush used his loyalty as a selling point when he was running, it is the
political loyalty, to conservative principles. That is his selling point.
When he nominated Miers. That is personal loyalty, which has no place in
modern politics. That is why Miers was rejected by the republicans.

所以我只叙述我所观察到的不同点，你可以指出我观察得不全面，请不要来搞个人攻讦

保守派们所倡导的loyalty不光是loyal to some principles, 也包括对人的loyalty.
(据我观察是这样的。如果你觉得保守派们不在乎对人loyalty这个value, 请举出实例，
不要只给结论。）
布什要表现出自己loyal to conservative principle （这个principle包括loyalty这个
value)，在自己的政治生活中也就表现的对朋友对同党特别loyal一些（我们不谈
他是不是真心loyal, 只谈他的表现）
当然，表现对人loyal，也不能太明显地没有原则，所以就有Miers这个case, 共和党
自己也不支持布什
