New York. you see, another junior senator Hillary Clinton became secretary
of state. Under New York state law, New York governor named Ms. Gillibrand
as the successor until Ms. Clinton's term ends in January, 2011. In other
words, Ms. Gillibrand will face an election in November, 2010 (next year).
She is from Upper State (of New York state), so the rest of New York is
unfamiliar with her. See
