我刚听一个同事讲的，老先生67岁了，前不久才失去克莱斯勒的工作，然后通过老朋友
的介绍去了加州一个公司重新开始工作。因为还差几个月才满足领取social security
，所以这么大岁数了还折腾。

的。很为苏老师的不幸去世而感到难过。
苏铭德教授是卓有成就的计算流体力学专家。是六十年代被蒋南翔校长誉为“清华一万
个人里才出一个”的尖子学生。毕业后留工程力学系任教。八，九十年代曾赴德国做访
问学者。专长计算流体力学以及湍流的大涡模拟。著有“计算流体力学基础”，“气体
动力学基础”等学术专著。其大涡模拟论文以参考文献的形式被收到Stephen Pope所著
的湍流当代经典教材“Turbulence”一书中。为流体力学学科的发展，做出了他自己的
一份贡献。
苏铭德教授性格开朗豁达，为人谦虚低调。在力学系曾负责流体力学专业核心课程“流
体力学”的本科教学。教过的学生如今应该是桃李满天下。加州那边，应该有不少苏老
师当年教过的学生。
希望加州的校友会能出面帮助苏老师的家属料理后事，给苏老师以应有的哀荣。

death yet, and their son is going back to Beijing and
deliver the news.
Let's be careful here. We don't want his wife to find
out from any other sources. When their son comes back
in about 2 weeks, I think there will be a funeral service.
Until then, let's wait and see what we can do. RIP, Prof. Su.
