Just received a check from US treasury (about $600). I am not expecting any
tax refund this year. The check indicated it is "KANS CYTAX REFUND".I

I am confused whether this is a real check.

I then received an explanation that this refund is for Schedule M (Making
Work Pay and Government Retiree Credits) that I missed.
