D***t 发帖数: 64 | 1 I am currently on a F-1 visa, but highly likely to be on a H-1 visa this
October. I bought some stock last December. I am wondering which rate would
apply to my capital gain for this year, 30% for F-1 holders or 15% for
residents. Thanks |

D***t 发帖数: 64 | 3 from IRS publication, the rate would be 30% for F-1 holders and 15% for h-1B
holders. I will change from F-1 to H-1B.

your income tax rate, which is very likely higher than 15%
