1040) instead of
a non-resident alien (Form 1040-NR) with a H-1 visa.
However,
you would be allowed a $4,300 standard deduction (if you are
single, different amount if you are married), or an
itemized deduction
(a total of state taxes paid, charitible contribution made,
etc), whichever is
higher. In addition, you would also be entitled to the same
$2,750 personal
exemption as you file Form 1040-NR. |
