awarded contracts for the latest sale of oil from the Strategic Petroleum
Reserve as part of the administration's efforts to ease disruption caused by
the war in Ukraine.
Chevron CVX.N, ExxonMobil XOM.N and Shell shel.l will be among the firms to
take delivery of crude oil between Aug. 16 and Sep. 30, the Energy
Department said in a news release.
The sale is part of a program announced by President Joe Biden in March to
supply one million barrels of crude oil a day for six months, it said. |
