James Acton, a nuclear expert at the Carnegie Endowment for International
Pace in Washington DC, told BBC News President Putin may resort to nuclear
weapons if he continues to be frustrated in Ukraine.
He said these would more likely be smaller nuclear weapons known as tactical
nuclear weapons, used within Ukraine. These are different from strategic
nuclear weapons, like the ones used by the US in Japan during the Second
World War, but would still represent a significant escalation. |

不过俺是没想到，有舔功护体就不担心核武器了，这倒是神奇。现在全世界都在担心，

"We are so focused on thinking that it's so crazy and outside the realm of
possibility," Koffler said about the potential use of a nuclear weapon. "But
think about all the crazy things he has already done. "He invaded Crimea.
He is now attacking Ukraine in the most brutal manner possible."
Koffler explained that the nuclear option isn’t necessarily one of the next
steps Putin will take but that it can’t be "ruled out" because the further
you "drive Putin into the corner" the more the "probability increases
because he has everything at stake right now."
