Back in high school, there was nothing that I wanted more
than to provide for myself and my family.鈦br />
鈦br />
When my family came to
America, my family literally stayed in the equivalent of a college dorm room
.鈦br />
鈦br />
Because my mom didn鈥檛 have a proper work permit, she was forced
into working at a dingy restaurant for $1/hour.鈦br />
鈦br />
Yes that鈥檚 right -
ONE dollar per hour.鈦br />
鈦br />
Her boss worked her extremely hard and she was a
borderline slave. It broke my heart - but there was a bright side鈥︹仯
鈦br />
It put a MASSIVE chip on my shoulder. 鈦br />
鈦br />
It became my
RESPONSIBILITY to work hard, get into a good school, graduate and make lots
of money.鈦br />
鈦br />
So that鈥檚 what I did: I went to UCLA for biology, with
the intention of going to med school later on.鈦br />
鈦br />
I wasn鈥檛 the
smartest person in class by far. 鈦br />
鈦br />
But I worked my FACE off to beat
every other person in the room (because I had to).鈦br />
鈦br />
Later on, I
decided to transition into being an entrepreneur because I didn鈥檛 enjoy
medicine. I still applied the SAME work ethic I used to getting into school
as I did to starting my businesses.鈦br />
鈦br />
Failed 4 businesses. Wondered why
I was still messing up even though I was trying SO HARD to get it right.鈦
br />
鈦br />
But I continued to apply the same work ethic throughout it all,
because I NEEDED to win. 鈦br />
鈦br />
When my productivity program made $600K in
8 months, then $3M with a consulting biz, then getting my dream car (
Lamborghini Huracan), that consistency paid off.鈦br />
鈦br />
Here鈥檚 the point:
I thought I needed to be talented, smart, above average to be massively
successful.鈦br />
鈦br />
I WAS WRONG.鈦br />
