发帖数: 17163 | 3 The 3 pct u refering to probably is yield on 30 year treasury.
The 7.5 pct return u referring to is probably the annual price gain of tlt,
plus it's dividend over the course of 10 year period. That was cuz the yield
was much higher than the current 2.75 pct. And then pple go into
treasury, and take the price of treasury higher, and take
the yield below 3 pct, and price of tlt rally, by maybe around average of 7.
5 pct per year over the past 10 years.
Be advise, treasury investment is subject to interest rate risk. Currently,
30 years yield is around 2.75ish. If it go up to 4 pct, the price of the
treasury could fall a lot, etf like tlt may lose 20 pct or more.
If u really prepare to lock Urself for 10 years or 30 years, tlt is not the
way to do it, checkout treasurydirect and buy bonds or notes directly from
the treasury. That way, u probably will not lose ur capital if u plan to
hold to maturity, assuming if the us gov't will not default. but then of
course, there will be opportunity cost should the interest rate go higher in
the future, even if u decide to hold to mature and dont realize ur capital
loss
A simple google shld help u distinguish between the following Coupon rate,

的话，最保险的就是买TLT了

correlation has been strong in the past. It need not be true in the future.
It maybe, but it need not be.
