WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The larger of the BATS two exchanges, BZX, is not
accepting orders and is investigating system issues, according to two
alerts posted by the trading venue early Tuesday afternoon. BATS spokesman
Randy Williams said in a statement that the exchange - the third largest in
the U.S. - is still working to uncover the root cause of the issue. He added
that it was the first system issue the exchange has experienced since a
technology glitch led the company to withdraw its initial public offering in
