FRANKFURT–Germany’s two-year borrowing costs turned negative at an auction
for the first time Wednesday as the federal government sold 4.173 billion
euros ($5.123 billion) of treasury notes, or Schatz, the Deutsche Bundesbank
said.
The series on offer is a reopening of an issue first auctioned May 23.
The following are details of the auction, with amounts in euros. Figures in
brackets are from the previous auction held June 20.
