part of its DVD-by-mail plans. The unbundling will raise prices for the
millions of subscribers who like having both options.
Here's a look at the rates under the packaged system and the new a la carte
portion:
_ Renting up to one DVD and unlimited streaming used to cost $10 per month.
The new price: $16, a 60 percent increase.
_ Renting up to two DVDs at time and unlimited streaming used to cost $15
per price. The new price: $20, a 33 percent increase.
_ Renting up to three DVDs at time and unlimited streaming used to cost $20
per month. The new price: $24, a 20 percent increase.
_ A plan offering online streaming only remains unchanged at $8 per month. |
