During the last economic growth period (2001-2007), people are having babies
.... 2007 birth rate is a multi-decades high. The first batch of retailers
to benefit from this boom is children's clothes. 2008 rise on GYMB is the
confirmation. Although during the economic downturn, people trade down to
PLCE after we see 2009 earnings.
I never thought GYMB could sell itself at this time....not sure what the
board is thinking.... Maybe it is outplayed by PLCE competition? Anyway, the
outlook for baby clothes is not very good now, 2010 rate is a multi-decades
low....
