Risk Analyst
Location: Austin, TX
Description

approach to assessing various buyer-side and seller-side risks PayPal takes
on (including identity fraud, seller fraud, account takeover, credit) and
the treatments, actions and experiences triggered by the results of the Risk
assessment and used by PayPal to control losses.

Responsibilities include:
• Designing, developing and deploying strategies for Compromised
cards.
• Building flash fraud strategies to manage the loss exposure of
our lost and stolen cards.
• Analyzing hundreds of variables covering a wide range of
information from user profile to historical transaction data. Identifying
new patterns and new variables.
• For each modeling project, designing its best structure and
selecting the most appropriate modeling techniques which may include a
combination of several modeling techniques like logistic regression,
decision tree and neural network.
• Analyzing model performance and communicating model design and
performance to senior management.
• Understanding how to analyze transaction flowing through the
system and identifying opportunities and gaps in managing losses and
customer experience.
• Working with product managers and engineering in deploying
analytical solutions
• Providing on-going performance tracking reports and managing
model continually.
• Working independently and proficiently. Accountable for own
results. - Working on multiple assignments simultaneously and in all areas
of a standard project in the area of responsibility.
• Focusing primarily on how to achieve overall analytic objectives
of a project with speed and quality.
Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor degree from a quantitative discipline, such as
computational finance, statistics, computer science, operation research and
mathematics. Master degree preferred.
• Strong analytical/technical skills, quick learner.
• Proven ability to work with a team as well as work independently
with minimum directions.
