RoleSenior Biostatistician
Location: San Francisco Bay Area (Pleasanton, San Ramon, Bishop Branch, CA)
Full-time permanent or contractor opportunities available.
Role DescriptionTo lead and perform statistical activities on the assigned
project/protocols, including input to clinical design, prepare statistical
section of protocol, Statistical Analysis Plan, Statistical Analysis Report,
Statistical programming for key statistical techniques to be used in trial
analysis and other statistical activities associated with a drug/diagnostics
project. In addition, support the capability development with domain
specific training and discussions.
Essential Experience/ Skills/
Personality Traits:
PhD (preferred)/MSc in Statistics, Biostatistics, or Mathematical Statistics
with at least 4-6 years' experience in pharma/healthcare/diagnostics
Experience in Drug Development, program design, data analysis and
interpretation at study level and program level, ranging from Phase I-IV.
Experience from at least two Therapeutic Areas (TAs)
Strong knowledge of statistical techniques and its application to clinical
trials and drug development/diagnostics.
Strong knowledge of statistical programming languages, database retrieval
and IT tools
Good knowledge of the technical and regulatory requirements and guidelines
related to the role
Experience of regulatory interactions and/or submissions preferred.
Experience of project management
Leadership capabilities in mentoring and mentoring people and operations (
including, recruitment, training, and capability development)
Strong collaboration and communication (verbal and written) skills and
ability to build relationships across global & functional boundaries both
internally and externally
Understanding clients requirement and providing all the required statistical
inputs/writing on study design, sample size, SAP, Mock Shells, Tables,
Listings, Figures, CSR or any other statistical deliveries
Assists with developing, monitoring, and enforcing productivity and quality
standards.
Coordinating with the project management in meeting the timeline and
defining/ capturing the metrics for monitoring and maintaining the quality
and productivity
Ability to prioritize work, decision making abilities and achievement
orientation
Service excellence oriented with analytical and problem solving capabilities
Focus on delivering with quality and have a good attention to details with
good people skills.
Key Accountabilities
Perform statistical activities on medium to high complexity clinical trial
diagnostic protocols in a timely and efficient manner
Perform the statistical analysis of data to ensure scientific correct and
appropriate interpretation and communication of the result
Contribute to the statistical development, capability training, and
discussions for white papers internally
Track metrics specified
Inputs in clinical trial design and statistical model as per the regulatory
requirements in specified therapeutic area
Support Statistical programming team for statistical techniques
Ensure timelines for deliverables and process improvement
Provide guidance and mentoring to other team members
Ensure adherence to Cognizant and Client SOPs
Provide guidance and supervision to the direct reports and completion of
training plan for all direct reports
Provide input into individual annual objectives of direct reports
