在一家consulting firm里做analyst，每天就是处理数据，面对各种project manager
的各种data request。现在觉得在 Sas programming 方面已经没有什么东西好学了，
无非就是不断的 data cleaning。其他方面得不到什么长进，不论是 modeling 或者
project management 方面都没有机会上手，跟manager 提出要求得到的回答是，你可
能还要在现在的岗位上多干一阵子。觉得有点开始浪费时间了。觉得再干下去会限制自
己的发展。
想转行。

what u can learn from the work is very limited.
what i can do is to automate all the routine jobs as much as possible,
and use the spare time to learn sth else from papers, text, internet...etc.

whole team, so you will get rewarded.
Of course you will get more work, but this means, potentially, you can make
bigger impacts, right?

analysis, elasticity model, but I just dont get a chance to touch it. I
think the managers nails me down as an data guy

strategy development kind of work right now. No right or wrong answer when
dealing those business problems. Flexible. A lot of room for your creativity
. You will get bored pretty soon if you just focus on the technique side.
But you can always dig something else to improve your management
presentation and communication skill set. |

头想让我往管理方向去发展，被我一口拒绝了。我们技术上做到顶是18万，管理到
director级别，也就是16万吧。对中国人来讲很难到VP级别的。

偶每次干这种data的活以后，就要求自己去做presentation，其实也是个锻炼机会。因
为一般这样的事情要开好多会，这样你就不停的说呀说，要不那些什么搞不明白的人说
明白，其实也是个活。
还有，要是有空了，就去多聊聊天，social一下。说不定什么时候机会就来了。
再就是enjoy life。 |

现在太忙了，各种IDEA都没时间实施 |

report都自动化，SAS处理原始数据，尽量避免excel和任何manual操作。automation除
了节省时间还可以减少错误，节省出来的时间可以开发新的project，当然这部分需要
相当的business skills

possible (of course, if time permits) as natural extension to your skill/
knowledge set.
I once read a book on how to improve coding skills. Once tip is to pick up
and read other people's code from their garbage can :--) |
