I recently got two offers, PhD in Emory, MS in Umich. Ofcourse both with
financial support. Although UMich is a master, but people there told me they
encourange master student continue to pursue a PhD there and 90% of their
students get the PhD there. But the second years' scholarship can only be
get if you B+ for all courses. But for Emory, the first three years
fellowship is guaranteed.
I do not know which school has better reputation in US and also I am afraid
that the climate in Michigan is very cold. |

1.Umich学校的名气比Emory大挺多
2.虽然Emory近些年的生物统计发展迅猛，但是应该还不是跟Umich生统一个级别的。。。

管不管。Michigan其实不算很冷，就是雪多点，习惯了就好了。我LD在SD住了6年，去
了Michigan还是survive了。

读Emory半路读不下去了，随时转Master走人，想换个更好的地方读PhD也可以转学

.....
I heard that in the market nowadays, they only want PhD students la.....
Also I heard Umich is very harsh....I do not know whether I can make it.....

If I spent 2 years in Michigan as master, in that case, I may need less
years, say 3 years to get a PhD.....

all hard to get into PhD once you are in the MS program. |

you can ask students in Emory and Umich to find out more.
P.S. UMich is very tough based on what I heard, but I might be wrong...

再申请的时候申低一档的学校就好。如果读的好的话还能名正言顺去申更好的 UW，JHU
或者Harvard。而且UMich 不是stanford 统计那种招很多MS，PHD项目对alumni应该还
是更友好些。
