1. close to home (20 minutes by bus)
2. close to my husband' office(walking distance)
3. working schedual is flexible
I have another opportunity with salary 70000. however,
1. 11 miles away from home
2. short term (1 year and 10 month).
If you were me, will you change your job?
I know it is up to me, however, it is hard to make decision.

enough to pick up children. 11mile is only about 15-30 drive. I have seen
too many Amercans stay in a company 20-30 years. In the end, they are ones
get laid off. For me, I think 70k is much better than 53k for your own value
. It is also different when you get 3-5% raise. |

can find a job with salary even higher than 70k.
However, if you really do not care money and your first priority is family,
then you may stay. |

you have 2 more years experience. However, it is important for both you and
your husband agree on the decision. Family factor is more important. |

1) How busy is your husband for his work? Does he need to work over 8 hrs?
What is his career development? Down the road, does he need to work long
hours?
2) How much time do you guys need to spend on kids? How many kids you have?
Would you consider another kid? Do you have grandparents to help?
3) The 11 miles distance, how is the traffic? 11 miles may be very different
depending on where you are.
4) How ambitious are you? What makes you happier, clos

friends on this bbs would like to help. I want to change, becuase like many
of you said, I can find a job with much higher payment in 22 months. Besides
, I have babysitters, so don't worry about baby and big kid. However, my
husband said if I leave my current job, i will not get the retirement plan...
I prefer to go.. I will see. a family fighting is just started... |

You can't get much 401K savings with 53K salary anyway.Ask your husband to
be confident in your ability. Career growth is also very important to you.

change in your life.You can make twice money, worthy it. |
