Can anybody suggest me a topic for PhD dissertation in statistics?
I am a PhD student in statistics. I passed the qualifying exam in May. Since
my advisor does not have any topic at hand, I am looking for some topic on
my own. I have been reading some papers on singular value decomposition(SVD)
and its application in statistics. I am somewhat interested in this area.
But I don't know how far I can go in this area. It seems like most of the
work have already being done. Other papers I was reading
