Euro 2012: Injured midfielder Tomas Rosicky in Czech squad
Injured Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has been named in Czech Republic's
23-man squad for Euro 2012.
The 31-year-old, who is captain of the national team, suffered a pulled
muscle in Arsenal's final Premier League game of the season against West
Brom.
However, he is expected to be fit in time for the Czechs' opening fixture of
Euro 2012 against Russia on 8 June.
"Tomas Rosicky's condition made things harder for us but he's been improving
," said coach Michal Bilek.
Viktoria Plzen midfielder Vladimir Darida, 21, has been included in the
squad as back-up, should Rosicky fail to recover.
Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, who signed a new four-year contract with the
Champions League winners on Monday, is also in the squad as Czech Republic
prepare for their fifth straight European championships.

Donetsk), Petr Jiracek (VfL Wolfsburg), Daniel Kolar (FC Viktoria Plzen),
Milan Petrzela (FC Viktoria Plzen), Vaclav Pilar (VfL Wolfsburg), Jaroslav
Plasil (Bordeaux), Frantisek Rajtoral (FC Viktoria Plzen), Tomas Rosicky (
Arsenal).
