Manchester United’s star striker Wayne Rooney has no fear of playing
Spanish giants Barcelona in the Champions League quarter finals, declaring
United will beat any opposition they face.
“We will be confident we can win whoever we get in the next round,' the
England international striker told reporters.
“If you are going to win this tournament you have to play anyone - and beat
them.”
Edwin Van der Sar backed Rooney’s calls to play Barcelona when interviewed
by TalkSPORT. Asked who he most wanted to face in the quarters, the star
goalkeeper replied, “Foreign team. Definitely!”
Manchester United beat Marseille 2-1 in the second leg of the final 16 at
Old Trafford last night, and Van der Sar is hoping to take the Champions
League trophy and secure the treble in his last year before he retires. |
