their better selfreliance and gear loading inbound or outbound. The latter
of which of course requires a backpack.
The fact they almost all carry a pack in competition is probably just
habitual. I suspect it also protects their back and neck in a bad fall, plus
reduces the range of back lean a bit, which for example might helped Jackie
's dramatic bouncing back yesterday at the bottom of the China Wall.

发帖数: 472 | 8 in fact I just realized freeride contest requires all competitors carrying a
backpack with shovel and probe. This now makes sense to me since in avy
burry these fellow competitors are the fastest and strongest to reach the
site.
