but DBA is ... let me say...
usually it's different from phd in b-school.
Often times, phd in b-school is more research-teaching oriented,
DBA is more practical oriented. That's why
not many schools who are good or believe they're good
offer DBA. they offere phd program.
it's very subtle, but to my understanding, DBA is
not acknowledged as the same level as phd. However,
everything has some exceptions. e.g., DBA in Harvard (that's basically
the only good school I knew offer DBA) is a | r**k

let me add, phd is doctor of phylosophy.
I've seen doctor of other areas,
an interesting one: JD, this is not regarded as "fully" doctor,
3 year program, less research-oriented (this part is similar to
DBA). Usually JD can teach tax / business law in b-school. However,
most of them are adjunct/clinical professors, which are not tenured
or tenure-track positions. Correct me if I'm wrong, I think there
are research oriented (close to phd) doctor programs in LAW which prod
