tough but a beautiful hike
only myself on the top :-) |
W***n 发帖数: 11530 | 4 Beware for 1st timer on the trail, it forks (a small sign post there) at ~2
mi, take the right trail, which starts with switchbacks going up the ridge. |
W***n 发帖数: 11530 | 5 May do some ice-on-the-cake extra on that hike, IF time & conditions permit
HA HA HA |
W***n 发帖数: 11530 | 6 Tomorrow weather looks pretty good, hi upper 20's, low lower 20's. Not too
cold.Mostly sunny.
Expect some snow & ice on the trail, but no big deal. |
W***n 发帖数: 11530 | 7 Great hike last Sat.
Made it to Gem Lake. Tons of people going to Snow Lake, but only a dozen of
so to Gem and no Oriental faces. Windchill on the way to Gem was in the
teens.
A few places with very slick ice, but made it through only with hiking boots
. Saw many people wearing microspikes though. |
W***n 发帖数: 11530 | 8 When I headed up Snoqualmie Mt ~2 weeks ago, only met a few folks :-) |
W***n 发帖数: 11530 | 9 Thanks for the solo hiker who came up to Gem Lake when I came down. He took
couple of nice pics of me with Snoqualmie Mt in the background :-) |
