请看昨天发的专贴。重申一下,打电话最好。 我打算电话,邮件都发。
Senator Wellman (41 district) 的亚洲人比例是22.9%。
Hello Senator Kuderer,
We live in the 48th Legislative District. We recently learned about a Bill
that you sponsored - SB 6406 , Repeal of I-200. We strongly oppose it, and
deeply felt betrayed by you. There have been mounting evidences that
Affirmative Action (AA) hurts Asian student's chance to gain admission to
college. In their award-winning book, No Longer Separate, Not Yet Equal:
Race and Class in Elite College Admission and Campus Life, Espenshade,
Thomas J. & Alexandra Radford pointed out that under AA, to gain admission
to college, Asian-American students had to score 140 points higher than
white students, 270 points higher than Hispanic students, and 450 points
higher than black students. According to 2010 census, Asian represented 23.5
% of population in your district. Instead of representing people in your
district, and fighting against AA, you sponsored a damaging, racist bill to
repeal a publicly voted AA ban. You failed people you represent. Shame on
you.
SB 6406 is a racist bill that victimize a small minority group in favor of
large minority groups for political gains. We, Asian parent, may be quiet
in the past. However, for the future of our kids, we'll be silent no more.
We will fight AA till it is out of our sight.
We, the people, urge you to reconsider your position on this bill, and fight
against it, instead of for it. | M********1 发帖数: 6 | 2 再附上写给Rules Committee的信:

Hello Rules Committee Members,
We just learned about SB 6406 - Repeal of I-200, and we are strongly against
it. SB 6406 is a racist bill against Asian American kids. There have been
mounting evidences that Affirmative Action (AA) hurts Asian students' chance
to gain admission to college. In their award-winning book, No Longer
Separate, Not Yet Equal: Race and Class in Elite College Admission and
Campus Life, Espenshade, Thomas J. & Alexandra Radford pointed out that

140 points higher than white students, 270 points higher than Hispanic
students, and 450 points higher than black students.
In many districts here in Washington, Asian Americans represent more than 20
% of the population. However, none of our senators invited us to testify
against the bill at the public hearing, and we only learned about this
damaging bill by chance. This fact speaks for its racist nature by itself.
Either our senators do not want our voices to be heard, or they do not care
about our interest. Either way, it proves that SB 6406 is a racist bill that
discriminates against a small minority group (Asian Americans) while in
favor of large minority groups. We urge you to stop this bill, vote no to
this bill.
For the future of our kids, we will fight till any AA bills are thrown out.

Clarence Thomas说过的话 "Government cannot make us equal; it can only
recognize, respect, and protect us as equal before the law. That [
affirmative action] programs may have been motivated, in part, by good
intentions cannot provide refuge from the principle that under our
Constitution, the government may not make distinctions on the basis of race.

First, want to thank you for the effort to stop SB6406. SB 6406 is a racist
bill against Asian American kids. There have been mounting evidences that
Affirmative Action (AA) hurts Asian students' chance to gain admission to
college. We know this won't be an easy battle. However, this bill crossed
our bottomline, and touched something that matters to us greatly - the
future of our next generation. We, Asian American parents, have united to
fight the battle. You and your colleagues make have noticed emails, phone
calls pouring in this past few days as we just learned about this bill. We
just started the fight, and we need you, and other like minded senators'
help. Please help us defeat SB6406, and stop the intended discrimination
against Asian Americans.
