Anyone working in a US-owned company, with English-speaking colleagues,
under an English-speaking boss, or needing to use English regularly, both
oral and written, and would like to improve their Business English. This is
good for both employees and employers. Former attendees have included those
with US obtained PhDs, Master’s Degrees, MBA, etc.
Class format:
A Power-Point Presentation plus videos with active participation by class
members. Class will be conducted entirely in English, and Chinese will be
used only when necessary.
Subject matters:
Everyday business English, regular must-know business terms, non-business
but useful terms, foreign words – Spanish, French, Italian, Latin -- in
everyday English, quotable quotes, mission statements and mottos, social
oral English, negotiation skills, job interviews, dining in a western
restaurant or at an American friend’s home, writing skills and email
etiquettes, hospital bloopers, punctuations, listening skills, interviewing
skills, conducting meetings and meeting participation, public speaking, and
much more.
Note: this is not a tutorial, not an ESL class, and is not specific for any
particular industry. There’s another class for beginners on Tuesday night.

Wednesday from 7:30 to 9:00 pm , starting on September 21, 2016.
Instructor:
A business entrepreneur and owner in the US since 1978, and a former
university Business Management teacher who speaks Spanish, Italian, some
French, plus Chinese Mandarin (Putonghua), Cantonese, and Shanghainese.
Fees: Absolutely FREE. This is a community service provided by the Mercer
Island, Washington area of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

students are serious professionals and most are MS, Amazon employee or
entrepreneur, it's a great platform to make new friends and learn business

班上多数同学都不信教，也没有人来强行拉你进教。上课时间100%是商务英语的topics
，课间休息时间，你自愿和教会志愿者聊天练英语或出门放水独呆，没人给你任何压力。
楼上的同学你来过就知道我讲的事实了。 | H**********e
发帖数: 2 | 5 我去年上课前也担心教会的问题，因为我不信教。我问了Daniel老师，他告诉我只是用
教会的场地，并不会传教。于是我去了。发现这课还挺有意思的，能学到不同的知识，
认识新的朋友，还能听到大家不同的想法。而且课程完全跟教会无关。有两个摩门教的
小伙一起来听课。他们都挺客气的。教会能提供这免费的场所，还挺感谢他们的。后来
去过一次他们的Halloween party,碰到一些摩门教徒，觉得他们都挺nice的。跟他们聊
天也挺轻松的，如果你对教会没兴趣，他们也不会特意向你传教。 | H**********e

我觉得Daniel的手机该换了，当时想组织大家凑钱给他买个手机作为圣诞礼物，后来因
为有些人已经单独送礼物了，所以没有实施。如果今年的学生想组织，再算上我一份。
