Kirkland: named after 钢铁大亨Kirk, The City of Kirkland was named after a
British-born steel tycoon, Peter Kirk, who came to the Northwest in the
1880s seeking new development opportunities.
Hunts Point: 一个叫Hunt的报纸大亨买了这个半岛,就成了Hunts Point。
During the latter part of the nineteenth century, Leigh S. J. Hunt, who
resided at the end of Yarrow Point on property that he acquired in the early
1870's from an old homesteader, bought what is now known as "Hunts Point".
