Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) (Downtown)
Company Summary:
Virtuoso is building the next generation of travel technology for the

Position Summary: The Software Engineer in Test (SDET) champions and
ensures quality software, systems, and processes by authoring and executing
detailed test plans and test cases. The SDET works effectively with all
levels of the technical team with uncompromising standards that are
effective, but not cumbersome.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties
may be assigned.
1. Proactively manually tests Virtuoso's web application.
2. Develop test automation for web applications *unit tests and web UI
automation).
3. Build test plans and test cases when necessary for assigned projects.
4. Engages in writing test automation
5. Execute tests and document results; coordinate, execute, and communicate
test activities with program managers and development teams to ensure
implementations support business priorities and needs.
6. Maintain ownership of test activities which may include data
verification, reporting, user interface verification, application behavioral
verification, and other test verifications as needed.
7. Proactively communicate to program management any variances to project
tasks well in advance.
8. Adheres to defined software development lifecycle best practices.
Educational and Skill Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience in software testing
• 2+ years of SQL language and data verification experience
• 1+ years experience in SDE/T, c# developing test automation and
testing web-based systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with Agile Development focused mainly as an individual
contributor is required
• Sound problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making skills
required
• Able to translate functional and technical requirements into working
test plans and test cases as required
• Must have high attention to detail and be motivated to find as many
defects as possible
Ability to learn quickly and acquire new skills
• Experience working in small teams with a good mix of autonomy and
accountability is highly desired
• Unit test and JavaScript test experience highly desired
• MSTest coded UI testing and Microsoft Test Manager experience
desired
