Edward V. Yang’s Seminar
Time: Oct 1st, 6:30-8:30pm
Location: Redmond Library - Meeting Room #2
Speaker: Edward V. Yang

Topic: Leveraging East-West Culture in the Business World
(Alternative Topic): Connecting East and West
Speaker bio:
After 40 years of helping US Corporations establish and grow their business
in Asia Pacific Countries, as well as helping a Chinese IT Services Company
expand in the US., Mr. Yang, and his vast international experience, is in
the unique position to understand what it takes for Asians to achieve the
success for which they strive.
This is, in large part, due to the fact that Asians are generally unfamiliar
with the Western Culture. Throughout Mr. Yang’s career it has become
clear to him that today’s successful business executives are required to
not only attain a good education, but also to enrich themselves with
knowledge that will enable them to succeed in a global environment. To be
successful in doing business, crossing country boundaries, one needs to
learn and appreciate the local culture of that country.
In this seminar, Ed Yang will share with the audience how understanding a
culture will make a critical difference in the success or failure of a
business endeavor.
His book, Co-authored by Kate Ou and Dennis Smith, “There are No Fortune
Cookies in China” has won awards and is required reading for several MBA
programs. Look for more information about the book from www.
nofortunecookiesinchina.com or from www.Amazon.com. You can also find more
information about Mr. Yang at www.EdwardVYang.com.
If seminar attendees review the book prior to attending the seminar, they
might come with questions already prepared.
