发帖数: 2300 | 1 SEATTLE - A Metro bus driver was shot multiple times Monday morning by a
passenger while on his route along 3rd Avenue near Benaroya Hall, police say.
The suspect reportedly stayed on the bus for a short time after the shooting
, then ran from the bus as police raced to the scene. Officers quickly
tracked down the suspect and shot him at 2nd Avenue and Seneca Street. His
gunshot injuries are considered life-threatening.
Medics came to the aid of the 67-year-old bus driver, who was rushed to
Harborview Medical Center. His injuries are not believed to be life-
threatening.
The incident unfolded just before 9 a.m. and multiple witnesses saw the
shooting.
One witness told KOMO Radio that the suspect was disputing with the driver
of Metro Route 27 about the fare, then pulled out a gun and opened fire at
the driver. The driver was hit multiple times.
Other witnesses said the bus driver was shot at least six times.
A KOMO Radio reporter at the scene said there are several bullet holes in
the bus window near the driver's seat.
In addition, a 32-year-old police officer sustained minor injuries during
the incident, possibly cut by flying glass.
Seattle police say they will maintain street closures in a three-block
radius of the second scene at Second and Seneca and to expect those closures
to remain in effect well into the evening. | P*******e

Most transit service in the downtown Seattle area has resumed normal
operation.
Buses are traveling both directions on Third Avenue and all Third Avenue bus
stops
have reopened.
Buses are still rerouted off of Second Avenue between Stewart and Spring
streets.
Board or exit all Second Avenue bus routes at their regularly posted bus
stops north
of Stewart St, east of Third Avenue or south of Spring Street.
Additionally, buses traveling into downtown Seattle on the northbound
Alaskan Way
Viaduct are currently rerouted via Third Avenue, and are not serving the
stop on Seneca St
just west of Third Avenue. Southbound viaduct buses are operating via their
regular routes
and stops.
The 2nd Av and northbound viaduct revisions are expected to last into the
afternoon
commute hours, and there could be traffic congestion and delays in the
downtown area
this afternoon. Please plan accordingly.

streets.
The stop on 2nd Av at Seneca St is now the only being missed.
Board or exit all Second Avenue bus routes at their regularly posted bus
stops north
or south of Seneca St.

stop on Seneca St
