The Data Analyst will extract data from data warehouses, pixel logs and
other data stores like 3rd party Web Analytic systems, for example, Omniture
and Google Analytics. Extracted data will be manipulated, merged, and
analyzed to produce reports, graphs, dashboards and other output to
ultimately reveal performance of our customers' digital marketing programs.
The Data Analyst should be able to think strategically about business issues
and understand Cobalt's Product & Service portfolios as well as emerging
technologies and their benefits to customers.
In addition to being a professional in the Intelligence COE organization (
product business unit), the Data Analyst partners closely with the Business
Analysts and Product Managers to support the release of new products and
proof-of-concept pilots.
Essential Functions:
Data extraction from data warehouse, pixel logs, and other 3rd party data
stores
Analyze web analytics and other quantitative and qualitative data
Data discovery
Daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly report creation, generation and
optimization
Ability to establish priorities, multi-task and work proactively and
independently, as well as part of a larger team
Ability to relate complex technical issues to non-technical team members and
customers
3-5 years of SQL experience
Proven ability to multi-task, handle multiple priorities and adapt to a fast
-paced environment
Experience with web analytic tools such as Omniture, Google Analytics, and
Webtrends. Omniture Certifications are a major plus.
Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau
Ad or marketing agency experience and/or automotive vertical experience a
major plus
Automotive market experience preferred plus
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
BA/BS in a business or technical field; an MS in a technical field a plus
Ad Agency Experience and/or Automotive vertical experience a plus
Experience, Skills, Academic:
Experience in web analytics, search and display advertising
Understanding of data retrieval strategies (crawler activity, landing page
validation, etc.)
Ability to analyze consumer and robotic traffic patterns
Ability to analyze website and network architecture as related to web
analytics
Proven track record of researching and analyzing complex technical issues,
and then summarizing them via tables, graphs, and written analysis
Advanced PL/SQL skills is required
Experience with other data extraction and manipulation tools:
o SAS, Toad, SPSS, R, other data mining tools
Tableau experience desired
Experience with Oracle Data Warehouses, Oracle BI Answers, Oracle Data
Mining a plus
Experience analyzing log data in a Linux/Unix environment using command line
utilities
Knowledge of Internet Advertising a plus |
