on 12/11 (Sun) at Microsoft Store, Bellevue Square.
You will enjoy an Entrepreneur Panel with great speakers, meet and
social
with other SEC members as well as play Kinect! Light appetizers and
beverages will be provided.
Time: 12/11 (Sun), 3-6pm
Location: Microsoft Store Meeting Room @ Bellevue Square
Agenda:
*3-3:20pm Check in + Social (food will be provided)
*3:20-4:00pm Introduce SEC, what we have done in the past year and
what we
are looking for next
*4:00-5pm Entrepreneur Panel

Founder, Chief Technology Officer
Before founding PivotLink, Ching was a senior technical architect at
Cambridge Technology Partners, specializing in data warehouse practices.
Ching also worked at several startup companies in the Los Angeles area.
He led a number of pioneering software development projects, including
an object-oriented database management system, a graphic spreadsheet
application and warehouse management systems.
Ching earned a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University
of Southern California and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from
China’s Tsinghua University.
Yi-Jian Ngo （吴益坚）
Managing Director, Alliance of Angels
Yi-Jian manages the operations of the AoA. He leads a team of Program
Managers in advising entrepreneurs and bringing the best companies
forward to the AoA membership.
Yi-Jian stumbled into the startup world when AT&T decided to reboot its
corporate venture fund and recruited him as one of the founding team
members. Working closely with entrepreneurs and helping them build their
companies turned out to be such a blast that he decided to continue that
at Microsoft, where he channeled Microsoft’s resources to help startups
succeed. Most recently, he was a venture capitalist at Sierra Ventures.
A network engineer by training, Yi-Jian initially built network systems
for the Singapore military. After realizing that he didn’t want to spend
the rest of his life in frigid equipment rooms, he moved over to the
business side, where he peddled satellite bandwidth in India, tried to
launch a new wireless phone service in the US, and dabbled in revenue-
based financing models.
Yi-Jian used to enjoy lots of interesting hobbies until his kids showed
up. Since then, he’s gotten a lot better at negotiation and persuasion,
discovering for example that a good way to teach kids Chinese is to
convince them it’s a secret code made up of magic symbols. He’s also
constantly exasperated that while so much has been written about
parenting, so little is actually known.
Dou Shen （沈抖）
Senior Director at CityGrid Media; Co-Founder at BuzzLabs
Dou Shen is a co-founder of Buzzlabs. Before Buzzlabs, he worked in
Microsoft as an applied researcher and research program manager,
starting from building solutions for web query understanding, semantic
advertising, to leading a team building a brand-new behavior targeting
product. Dou has published over 40 journal and conference papers and
filed 13 patents. He led a team winning the champion of 2005 ACM KDDCUP
competition. Dou co-founded the online advertising workshops ADKDD and
is now serving on the program committees for most of the major
