We mainly used it to block sun. I don't think it's good idea to buy any
retractable shade for rain blocking, they are not designed for that.
But we did use it a couple of times when we BBQ outside while it rains; The
trick is to expand the shade to just cover a limited area of deck but not
fully expanded, so the water won't accumulate on top of shade, it worked
really well.
The motorized shade is quite convenient, you can use remote inside house to
control when to expand/retract and how much shade you want.
In hot summer days, it makes huge difference on our house, my 2 cents

西什么的。不过contractor也说了，这个东西也就last四五年。最后我没装，一是觉得
不好看，二是怕挡住光线。还有一个方案是cover顶上用透明材料，不过那个价钱就大

价格也还算可以，如果有Promotion就更好了。
