里面有好几支 我几年前是看着Morningstar 四或五星面子才投钱下去的
沒想到几年后公司的投资项目几乎全都变没星 还有一支Fidelity Institutional
Money 掉得剩一块
这些星的预测是完全不准还是怎么回事?
我现在是要把没星跟剰 一块的 Rebalance 到其他支去好呢? 还是继续摆着不管它? |

投资顾问们第一句说的就是这个呀。90%以上
的基金不如SPY，实在不行就放指数好了。你
们公司有“S&P Index”的选项，真不错耶。

The performance of PIMCO Total Return was not bad last year, but this year
there is the believing that bonds will drop.
I'm not familiar wth BlackRock LifePath@ Retirement Fund, but it sounds like
a combined portfolio fund that I personaly don't like.

发帖数: 1179 | 7 里面有一个S&P 500 stock index fund.好像叫vanguard什么。
另外你如果自己有兴趣和能力做个股的话，还可以填一个表开通brokerage link账户，
自己做个股，期权，基金。

only choice within most 401K plan is the Money Market.

星越高说明过去这个基金的表现良好。你要看看最近这个基金是不是换过经理，换过了
那星没啥意义了。
今年表现突出的不少基金是过去表现太差了，跌的太惨了，升的也就多，并不代表这经
理水平高。要看LONG TERM PERFORMANCE |

如果你有时间多钻研，那么可以考虑研究ACTIVE FUND，否则不如买INDEX.
INDEX 的好处：跟大市（当然要好的INDEX）管理费便宜，一般转手率较低，税收影响
小。一般的BALANCE基金（傻瓜基金）就是根据你预期退休年龄搞个股票和债券（现金
）比率然后用INDEX
有的基金有对应的ETF,这样在税率和管理费上更便宜。
有时觉得公司的401K 是另一把刀--把公司本来有的理财责任转嫁给大多数不熟悉理财
概念的员工，还美其名曰有更好的收益可能。另一方面有些公司塞些破FUND在401里，
还不如买INDEX。
看MORNINGSTAR，正如ER所讲，要多看几年的星级，不要就看一年。另外如果不是INDEX
一定记着查经理，如果换过就要小心看看换后的表现。当然，2008年底很多FUND都换了
，世道不好。 但如果ACTIVE基金没丢过40%就不算太差。
另外一个有效的办法是看看经理自己投多少在自己的FUND里，MORNINGSTAR的SPY工具可
以查，免费的。
当然啦，还有些要注意的，看看过去10年而不是追近期的表现。看看风险(STDEV)
和收益是否划算。一般在同一类产品里 （不能拿ＳＭＡＬＬＣＡＰ比 ＭＩＤＣＡＰ
）同样风险就应选收益最大的。一般写个小程序就可以算出你的ＰＯＲＴＦＯＬＩＯ的
风险啦。不过偷懒点，就选ＩＮＤＥＸ喽。
近期债券类似乎ＹＩＥＬＤ垫底，价格高，所以小心投资

单个FUND来比较差别是巨大的。 |

也可以放一点在short term bond fund里面。money market就算了吧，回报率也太低了

Generally speaking, stock index fund can be further divided in to large,
middle and small by capital size (i.e. how big is the company issuing the
stock). The for each size category, it has value, growth and blend. Value
focus on currently under valued fund (in fund manager's eye, of course).
Growth are generally the ones with strong growth potential. Blend is the
mingle of the two. Warning is that, esp true for middle and small cap fund,
the fund might evolve, i.e. a fund with "Small Cap" in its name might not
be a real "small" fund. So you need to check the grid (free available with
morningstar and yahoo and most fund prospectus) . Of course, stock can be
domestic and international (which including emerging markets such as Asia,
Latin America, or some eu countries). Specifically, there are sector funds,
such as health care or technology.
Bond fund normally is normally categorized by term. Short, intermediate and
long. Short term is in general most stable while long term is most sensitive
to interest rate change. It can also be different by issuing entity, e.g.
country (e.g. US government, so gov bond; EM country--em bond), state and
municipal entity (muni bond),agency (e.g. GNMA and other state home loan
agency) and company
(depend on company's credit rating, could be high yield with high risk and
investment grade bond).
Of course, something pretty hot recently was convertible, that can be
converted to/from bond stock.
