the mentioned lightest materials is, as I assume, composed by particles with
largest voids within this network(therefore lowest solid content)
why said it is lightest, because if further lower the density, the mechanical
strength will be inadequate to be a solid, it will crack and break... | s*****i

is pretty ambitious. She has several science and nature, the first authors of
which were 1. first year graduate; 2. Undergraduate, 3. Even high school
student!!! I almost slept over the seminar, but when I heard this when she
gave the ACK, I was shocked, really shocked! That was about 6 to 12 months
ago.
I also happened to see one of the sample that NASA brought to their job fair.

In fact the manufacture process may be Chemical Vaporized Deposition,
synthesed from SiCl4 and H2O in hight temperatur. Supercritic Process is
not necessary , and seems not possible because SiO2 is not easily soluble.
