If so, when apply Q2 visa in Chinese consulate, normally they give you 90
days. However if the person at the window is nice, she may give you 120
days (you need to make a good case). Very rarely they grant full six month
180 days. Their standard is single entry: 180 days, multi entry: no more
than 90 days.
If you get 90 days, just extend it in China local police station. No big
deal.

我们绿卡，但是I797一直没过期。宝宝申请Q2探亲签证，对吧。

如果娃出生时你们还没绿卡，又是一种方式了，得申请中国旅行证。

clerk white it out, put in 90, I made a case for 120, she then put in 120
but said it's an exception for me.

发帖数: 525 | 11 In the invitation letter, we also said when will they arrive and when will
they leave for the upcoming trip. It is about 5 and half months duration in
China. Maybe it helped as well.
We actually used a travel agent, they also said we could ask for 180 days
but may not get it.

发帖数: 471 | 12 Thank you for sharing your tips. I think both could be factors. More
likely is travel agent submission are bulk processed (I saw a travel agent
dump 50 passports to the window), so they never bothered
to do the cross out and just used the date in the application. However at
Window they are more restrictive.
Anyway, good tips for LZ.
