Dear XXXX,
I am writing this message regarding SCA-5.
Please vote "NO" on SCA-5 since the execution of this bill would adversely
impact our State and National interest.
SCA-5 will make UC schools lose against other schools like Harvard & MIT for
private money. This would put the situation of our already tight state
budget to the UC schools even worse. It is well known that each year, a
great amount of private money goes into Harvard & MIT in the form of
donations, collaborations, licensing and royalties because of innovations
and discoveries made at those universities. A kid who can’t even work hard
enough to compete for an admissions spot in a UC school is NOT going to work
hard enough to compete against kids at Harvard & MIT in the discovery of
new innovations for private investment collaboration, licensing and royalty
dollars.
SCA-5 is going to put America in a bad situation compared to other
industrialized nations – it simply forces the groups of kids that work
harder at trying to get a college education give up their seats to lazier
kids.
Therefore, I strongly urge you to vote "NO" on SCA-5. Your vote is very
important to everyone in our community.
