I am so disappointed to your recent article "The Impact of Proposition 209
and Our Duty to Our Students".
Maybe you are not aware of your logic mistakes in your article, you claim
the issues(children from certain race are biased, isolated by 209), let me
help you out. Is there a quantitative assessment to admit students into
college? Do students of certain race(jew/Asian) get any bonus points in this
process?
No actually being Asians makes you more difficult to get admitted, with the
same test credentials!
Then why do Asians get better academic profiles?
Do we always have rich parents? No! I am from low income families, and so
many of my friends!
Do we get more private tutor? No!
The only difference, is, we spend more time and efforts to study, even my
parents are not well educated, they would always emphasize on the importance
of education, not like many other children from your favored race, who have
father, but never see their father, or their parents don't sacrifice
themselves to make sure their children focusing on studies.
We don't get what we get by any unfair competition, and you, you want to
take away the fair judgement(well, not really fair even in current admission
process), you propose to judge a student by his skin color!
I dare you do that to maintain your lab research! I dare you show me all the
students/postdocs you advised! I dare you show on the same website you
publish your "The Impact of Proposition 209 and Our Duty to Our Students"
side by side a list of the names/pictures of all those work/graduated in
your lab, and see if they satisfy your DREAM diversity!
I dare you more to show your proof that all the papers/patents from your lab
have the statistical distribution of authors consistent with your favorite
diversity!
Can you do that for me?
Thank you so much for not being hypocritical!
